OLYMPIA, Wash. — Vaccination rates among children are dropping, leaving them vulnerable to other diseases.

According to the Department of Health, providers in Washington’s Childhood Vaccine Program reported they administered 30 percent fewer vaccines to people under 18 this March compared to previous years.

State health officer Dr. Kathy Lofy says babies and kids may not be getting all the vaccines they need to protect them, which could increase the risk that we could see an outbreak of a preventable disease.
