WASHINGTON STATE – Washington is expanding its capacity to conduct case investigations and contact tracing of COVID-19.
As of Tuesday, more than 700 personnel each from the National Guard and the Department of Licensing are trained to help local health jurisdictions with this work as needed, supplemented by roughly 630 local and state public health professionals already available.
They are in addition to about 630 local and state investigators who are already working.
Staff interview people who test positive for COVID-19 and contact anyone by phone who may have been exposed while the person was contagious.
Participation is voluntary.
