BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Local volunteers are hosting a food & supplies drive for people in need this weekend.

Whatcom County COVID-19 Community Helpers is a grassroots group of volunteers created to protect our community from the pandemic by connecting so-called Neighbors in Need with Healthy Helpers who complete essential tasks while using strict safety protocols.

The group is holding a community food & supplies drive on Saturday, May 23, from 10 to noon with drive-thru drop offs located at four different churches throughout Bellingham — Redeemer, Hillcrest, Grace, and Cornwall.

Requested donations include shelf stable food, personal hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.
