Whatcom County honors veterans’ sacrifice with “Avenue of Flags”

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – A Memorial Day tradition continues in Whatcom County with some changes.

Moles Farewell Tributes is hosting the Festival of Flags at Greenacres Memorial Park again this year, but it’s set up as a drive-through event they’re calling the “Avenue of Flags.”

John Moles says it’s one of the largest displays in Western Washington with almost 2000 flags and plaques along the cemetery drive.

The memorial is open for everyone to visit from dawn to dusk over the weekend and the office is open for information.

Greenacres is on Northwest at Axton Road.
