LONG BEACH PENINSULA, Wash. – An elusive species was spotted on a Washington beach over the Memorial Day weekend.
Two photos of what is speculated to be a young, female wolverine on the Long Beach peninsula have been authenticated by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The Chinook Observer reports that catching a glimpse of this seldom-seen animal is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence.
The WDFW was unable to determine if the two photos were of the same wolverine.
The two photos were taken by residents of the area and provided by the Chinook Observer and WDFW.
