SEATTLE, Wash. – He’s not suing Charlie Tuna but Washington’s Attorney General is taking on his company.
Bob Ferguson says tuna companies Starkist, Bumblebee and Chicken of the Sea conspired to inflate the price of canned tuna, costing Washington consumers millions of dollars.
He’s suing Starkist and former Bumblebee CEO Christopher Lischewski, who’s been criminally convicted for promoting the price fixing scheme to benefit his company’s investors and his own stock holdings.
Ferguson’s lawsuit seeks restitution for Washington consumers who he says paid too much for canned tuna.
