BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Residents of Bellingham’s Lettered Streets Neighborhood say they found a flier from a white supremacist group on their doorstep.
Sirantos Fotopoulos says his parents found the flier on their porch last Friday.
It held a simple message of “It’s Okay To Be White” along with a website address.
He says the site had been taken down when he tried to log on, “but I did some rudimentary online research and found out that the individuals behind this are racist and they’re trying to recruit for some sort of white supremacy organization.”
And he says they’ve shown up at other homes and elsewhere in the neighborhood, “they’ve been popping up inside of those little, miniature lending libraries that some people place in their front yards.”
The Lettered Streets Neighborhood Association says they’ve heard fliers have also shown up in other parts of the city.
Bellingham Police ask that residents report these types of fliers, and the association says they’ll contact police for anyone who is hesitant to do so.
