BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Following Friday’s announcement that Whatcom County is approved to move to Phase 2 of the governor’s re-opening plan, the City of Bellingham says they will start to re-open park facilities that have been closed due to the pandemic.

By the end of this week, they will open basketball, tennis, pickleball, and volleyball courts as well as the disc golf course at Cornwall Park, dog parks at Lake Padden and Squalicum Creek Parks, the BMC track and skate park at Civic Complex, and the pump tracks, dog parks, sport courts and parking at Whatcom Falls Park.

Playgrounds and indoor facilities besides restrooms remain closed.
