BELLINGHAM, Wash. – With Whatcom County now in Phase 2, Bellingham businesses are adapting to the new normal with a Green Cone program.
Businesses in downtown Bellingham and Fairhaven will start placing bright, green cones outside to indicate that they are open and ready for business.
Businesses with green cones may be completely open or they may only be offering curbside pick-up, delivery or online products.
The City of Bellingham has purchased 200 green cones that are being distributed by the Downtown Bellingham Partnership and Historic Fairhaven Association.
To help with restrictive guidelines, businesses can apply for a temporary permit to use the sidewalk, parking stall, or street for commercial use.
