OLYMPIA, Wash. – Families in Washington state will soon have help to buy groceries while children have been home from school due to COVID-19.

Pandemic EBT is a new food benefits program designed to help families with children in grades K-12 who are eligible for their schools’ free or reduced-price meals.

The Department of Social and Health Services will begin distributing these benefits by early July.

P-EBT benefits do not replace any Child Nutrition Program already offered, and families are encouraged to continue participating in grab-n-go meals offered by their local school.
