BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham residents now have more options that allow them to social distance while enjoying the great outdoors.
City officials are offering opportunities for residents to use City streets, sidewalks, trails, and other rights of way to support social distancing as the community begins to emerge from COVID-19 restrictions and prepare for summer recreation.
Some of the changes include a protected crossing on Cornwall at the Whatcom Creek Trail, a new marked crossing at Electric Avenue and Flynn Street connecting into Whatcom Falls Park, and increased wayfinding connecting the South Bay Trail to Railroad Avenue.
Residents can also apply for authorization to close neighborhood streets so people have extra room to walk, ride bikes, walk dogs, and more.
