BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man is suspected of threatening a family with a knife while they were in their car in line at a drive-thru.

The victim called 9-1-1 on Saturday June 6th to report a male who confronted them and brandished a fixed blade knife as they were in line at Woods Coffee.

The suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Daniel Tarela Canzater, reportedly walked up to the window of the car and told the driver to get out.

Lieutenant Claudia Murphy tells KGMI that as officers were speaking to the victim and taking the report, the suspect drove up and attempted to confront the family again.

Officers then detained Canzater and booked him into the Whatcom County Jail.
