OLYMPIA, Wash. — Businesses soon won’t be allowed to serve you if you aren’t wearing a mask.

Governor Jay Inslee expanded the statewide mask order Thursday as confirmed cases increase in much of Washington.

He says Whatcom is among counties that are seeing a spike.

The rule for businesses was previously only in place for Yakima County, which has been a hotspot for infections.

It goes into effect next week.

Inslee is also pausing “Safe Start Washington” for two weeks, keeping counties where they’re at in the four-phase re-opening plan.
