BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Drive through, free COVID-19 testing in Bellingham will be back soon.

The county piloted a low-barrier testing program in Bellingham last Friday and Saturday where they offered a free drive-thru test to anyone who wanted one — no doctor referral, insurance or appointment necessary.

They tested nearly 800 people during the 12 hours the site was open and they say fewer than 1% tested positive for COVID-19.

They plan to provide another two days of drive-thru testing at the Civic Field Stadium parking lot this Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
