OLYMPIA, Wash. — With the weather improving, local law enforcement is reminding motorcycle riders to keep safety in mind.
Doug Dahl with the Washington Traffic Safety Commission says motorcycles are just 3% of vehicles on Washington roads but riders are 14% of fatalities.
And he says motorcyclists are at fault in most crashes.
Law enforcement will be conducting emphasis patrols to watch for unsafe riding starting this weekend.
Dahl says they’ll focus on roads that are popular with riders and where there have been crashes in the past.
