OLYMPIA, Wash. –The Baker Lake sockeye season kicks off Saturday, July 18.

It will go through September 7.

In a news release, the state Department of Fish & Wildlife said they recently stocked the lake full of fish.

They set the daily limit at two per person with a minimum size of 18 inches.

The department will closely monitor the sockeye population and if they determine that it is in jeopardy, they may close the fishery early.
