BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County’s second drive through COVID-19 testing last weekend processed even more tests.

The health department says 1021 tests were conducted Friday and Saturday with over half given to 18 to 49-year-olds.

Results were provided to persons who could be reached by noon Monday.

About 1% of test results came back positive.

Also Monday, the State Department of Health reported 8 new virus cases in Whatcom County for the second day in a row, with no new deaths reported.

The county is passing on the two risk metrics for hospital utilization rates; and failing on the three metrics related to infection rates.
