BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Whatcom County man who was wanted by law enforcement for abusing a child is in jail.

We reported last week that the sheriff’s department was looking for 28-year-old Joshua Trent Klippenstein for abusing a child.

A sheriff’s department spokesperson says Klippenstein was found and arrested in Oregon and transferred to Whatcom County on Tuesday.

Court records show he was wanted for abusing his girlfriend’s three year old son at a home on Milwaukee Road.

Other people living in the home reported the abuse on July 12th and took the boy to the hospital where he was found with cuts and bruising over much of his body.

A Whatcom County Superior Court judge set Klippenstein’s bail at $1 million.
