ABBOTSFORD, BC — A Blaine man has been arrested for trying to smuggle hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine into Canada near Abbotsford.
The RCMP says Zacchary Marcus Hecock crossed the US-Canada border with an ATV and trailer in the area of Mt. Lehman Road.
Citizens noticed the illegal crossing and reported it to police.
RCMP, Abbotsford Police, and US Border Patrol agents responded to the area and found Hecock in a blueberry field.
Hecock was arrested and the ATV and trailer were secured and seized, along with duffle bags with about 436 pounds of methamphetamine inside.
Hecock is in custody and will appear in Abbotsford Provincial Court next week.
