BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Three suspects from the Yakima Valley were arrested after they allegedly drove all the way to Bellingham to buy drugs.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office reports tip information provided to their Gang and Drug Task Force had led to an investigation of the suspected narcotics transaction.

As a result, detectives contacted three suspects, all from Mabton, Washington, and found them to be in possession of 2 kilograms of cocaine, over $60,000, an AR-15 style rifle and a handgun.

All three admitted that their reason for coming to Whatcom County was to buy cocaine and then sell it in turn to buy even more cocaine.
