Pet dog missing after going over a cliff near Lake Ann

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — A pet dog is missing in the Mount Baker wilderness.

Summit to Sound Search & Rescue announced on Sunday that they were assisting the Washington State Animal Response Team in locating a K9 after a dog had reportedly gone over a cliff about 5 miles up the trail at Lake Ann.

Volunteers hiked up to the dog’s last known location, repelled down the cliff multiple times and, unfortunately, did not see or hear her.

Penny is a 20 pound Labradoodle and anyone who finds her in the Lake Ann or Baker Lake area should contact the response team, WASART, at info@wasart.org
