ROCKPORT, Wash. — The portion of the North Cascades Highway that closed in June due to a rockslide is on track to reopen this Friday.
The state Department of Transportation reports hillside stabilization is complete at the site near Rockport.
Now, all that’s left is to clean up the large pile of rocks and debris, repair the road and have the department’s geotechs complete a final evaluation.
Until then, a signed detour will be in place.
