BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County is launching a new COVID testing model aimed at reducing wait times.
The County Health Department says testing locations for the mobile program will include at least one site within each school district.
The free tests that won’t require a health care provider referral will be done five days a week, excluding Thursdays and Sundays.
People will be able to make appointments, reducing wait times to less than 15 minutes.
Some waited as long as three hours for recent drive-thru tests at Civic Field.
The health department will begin testing the new mobile program on Monday, Aug 10th, and it’s expected to be fully operational in two weeks.
