BLAINE, Wash. — Fish habitat improvements are underway this week at Terrell Creek in Birch Bay.
A helicopter is placing around 200 logs, each weighing several tons, at the creek between Jackson and Kickerville Roads.
The project is part of the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association Terrell Creek Restoration Plan and will benefit salmon and other aquatic species.
It is required mitigation to support the Birch Bay Berm project.
Whatcom County Public works asks you not to approach the area while work continues through tomorrow (Weds).
