LYNDEN, Wash. — A march to support minority groups is planned in Lynden for August 16th.

The Young Advocates of Whatcom County are planning the event in coordination with a local group called Kids 4 Equality, which was started by elementary students in Lynden.

It’s set to begin at 2pm at Fisher Elementary School with participants then marching less than a mile to a rally point featuring speakers, performers and musicians.

They are also holding a food drive for migrant workers.

YAWC says the event is planned to be strictly peaceful and informative and any violence will not be tolerated.
