BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The remains of a Sehome high school graduate lost in a Marine corps accident last month will return to Bellingham Monday.
The parents of Pfc Jack Ryan Ostrovsky told the Marine Corps Times he loved being a Marine.
The 20-year-old Bellingham native was one of eight Marines who died, along with one sailor, when their amphibious assault vehicle sank during a July 30 training incident off the coast of California.
A Support Officers of Whatcom County Facebook post says Ostrovky’s funeral motorcade will arrive in Bellingham around 8:30pm Monday, travelling north on I-5 to Sunset.
It will proceed west to Illinois Street, go south on Northwest to Elm and end at Westford Funeral Home at 1301 Broadway.
The post says procession updates will be posted on that page.
A public memorial service is set for Wednesday, August 26th, at 1 p.m. at the Squalicum Boat House.
There will only be 30 socially distanced seats, but there will be room in Zuanich Park for people to safely attend the ceremony.
