BELLINGHAM, Wash. — More Asian giant hornets have been found in Whatcom County.
WSDA entomologist Sven Spichiger told KGMI Friday morning that two more so-called murder hornets were trapped.
A WSDA trap near Birch Bay was the first to be hit, shortly followed by a volunteer trap located further north.
Sprichiger said the invasive hornets are becoming more active and they’re hoping to capture live specimens that could lead them to their nests.
All but one of the hornets found in Whatcom County have been in Birch Bay and Custer.
