BLAINE, Wash. – Prosecutors in British Columbia have filed charges against a trucker for trying to smuggle almost 200 pounds of methamphetamine across the border in Blaine in 2018.
The charges allege that 64-year-old Steven Golding of Surrey, B.C. tried to bring the drug into Canada from the U.S. while crossing with a commercial load.
The RCMP says agents found the meth with a street value of millions of dollars during a secondary inspection of the truck’s cab.
Golding could face life in prison if convicted of the smuggling charges.
