BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A local blood bank is assisting with COVID-19 treatment efforts.
In an email to donors Tuesday, Bloodworks Northwest said donations until September 30th will be tested to determine eligible convalescent plasma donors.
The FDA has approved an Emergency Use Authorization for use of convalescent plasma as a treatment for the disease.
Bloodworks says test results will be mailed within two weeks, advising donors who were infected with the coronavirus.
