WASHINGTON, DC — President Trump says he wants to defund Seattle and Portland.

In a Wednesday night tweet, the President wrote his administration will ” prevent weak mayors and lawless cities from taking Federal dollars while they let anarchists harm people, burn buildings, and ruin lives and businesses.”

The New York Post reports Trump on Wednesday signed a five-page memo ordering all federal agencies to propose funds that can be redirected from New York, Washington, DC, Seattle and Portland.

In the memo, Trump says the effort is to ensure tax dollars are not “wasted nor spent in a manner that directly violates our Government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property.”
