BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Bellingham sock store is soaring to new heights in a hit new Netflix series.
“Away” stars actress Hilary Swank, who grew up in Bellingham, as commander of a group of astronauts headed to Mars.
Modsock’ director of sales and operations Ben Shaklee says Swank met with a former astronaut who happens to wear novelty socks as she prepared for the role
He says the constellation and solar system socks Swank wears in the production are among about 200 original Modsock designs.
In all they have over 1200 styles of socks in their store on Cornall that they’ll re-open this month.
