BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The coronavirus drive thru testing site in Bellingham that was scheduled for today has been cancelled.
Due to increasingly poor air quality, Whatcom Unified Command has temporarily closed operations at Civic Field.
Whatcom County Health Officer Dr. Greg Stern recommended that testing be postponed in order to protect staff and those being tested from unhealthy air quality.
Those with appointments will be notified of cancellations and have an opportunity to register for an appointment at a later date.
Whatcom Unified Command hopes to reopen on Monday for testing at Civic Field in Bellingham but will continue to monitor air quality and may need to close that testing site as well.
