SEATTLE, Wash. — Amazon has banned foreign seed sales in the U.S.
This after thousands of Americans nationwide received unsolicited packages of seeds in the mail, primarily from China.
The Capital Press reports the company told foreign seed sellers of the change at the beginning of the month.
Federal ag officials had complained it was too easy for foreign seed sales on Amazon’s site to threaten the US with possible invasive species or pathogens.
