BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Lummi Nation will participate in a Phase 3 clinical trial of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The trial of the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca will be led by Lummi Tribal Health Center physicians and staff with the support of the University of Washington.
The Northwest Indian College determined that potential benefits for Lummi Nation’s participation in the trial far outweigh potential risks.
Only members of the Lummi and Nooksack tribes will be permitted to volunteer.
