MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) — Skagit County says it has provided about 2,000 N95 masks to protect agricultural workers amid the widespread wildfire smoke.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports that farm workers were already required to wear masks due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But the CDC says the cloth masks in use do little to protect from wildfire pollutants, while the newly provided N95 masks can protect against the harmful particles found in smoke.
