BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The state health department data dashboard shows 8 new positive virus tests for Whatcom County for Monday, the most recent data available.

The state’s risk assessment dashboard shows the 14-day rate of infection per 100,0000 population continues to increase, now at over 60, compared to the state goal of 25.

The percent of county hospital beds in use has increased from under 80% for all patients two weeks ago to nearly 90% now, with the state reporting no Whatcom County hospital beds in use for COVID-19 patients as of Tuesday morning.

This as Governor Inslee has announced new uniform statewide airport pandemic requirements.

The governor’s Medium page says he guidance will require face coverings in the airport; signage and spacing for physical distancing; protective barriers between travelers and workers; and sanitizer and disinfectant protocols, while encouraging airlines to establish health screening questionnaires.
