OLYMPIA, Wash. — The state Attorney General is suing Brown Paper Tickets for stiffing organizers and ticket buyers for a number of events including at least one in Bellingham.

Bob Ferguson’s office says the Seattle-based ticket seller owes event organizers $6 million and ticket buyers $760,000 nationwide.

The events include youth arts programs that were staged in Bellingham in February and March before the pandemic shutdown.

The AG says Brown Paper Tickets sold $3000 worth of tickets to those events but hasn’t paid those involved.

The lawsuit asks for a $2000 fine for each violation and restitution for the organizers and those who bought tickets.
