TRI-CITIES, Wash. (AP) — Veterinarians are warning of a surge in a deadly canine virus.

KOMO-TV reports over the last two weeks clinics in the Tri-Cities area have seen a spike in positive cases of parvovirus.

Pet experts believe that could be because more people are getting puppies and pet clinics are doing less vaccine clinics as a COVID precaution.

Vets say parvo is simple to prevent but expensive and complicated to treat.

Without treatment it could be deadly.
