WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Some veterans days events will carry on in Whatcom County Wednesday in spite of pandemic gathering restrictions.
This year’s Bellingham Veteran’s Day program will be at American Legion on Bakerview Road starting at 11.
Participants may view the ceremony standing outside while distancing, or remain in their cars.
Ferndale’s outdoor ceremony features Lt. Col Jim McKinney, who spent 30 years in the foreign service and covers foreign affairs for KGMI each Friday morning.
That event starts at 11 at Griffintown Park on 2nd Avenue, with distancing and masking required, and is hosted by the American Legion Kulshan post 154.
And the Lynden VFW Auxiliary #9301 is taking part in the nationwide Wreaths Across America, hoping to honor each of the 250 veterans interred at the Lynden Cemetery.
