MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A 22-year old Deming man was killed in an I-5 accident yesterday in Skagit County.
State troopers say Jordan Blankenship was standing on the side of the highway southbound just past Mount Vernon, pulled over and standing between his truck and a disabled trailer around 5pm.
That’s when a car driven by Marysville resident Terry R. McEwan hit Blankenship’s trailer from behind with enough force that the trailer hit him.
Blankenship was pronounced dead at the scene.
The state patrol says intoxication was a factor and the accident remains under investigation.
