BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Bellingham man was arrested in a major drug bust this week.
On Tuesday, the Whatcom Gang and Drug Task Force wrapped up a monthslong investigation into a local narcotics dealer.
The task force made several purchases from George “Duffy” Canelakes in and around Bellingham and discovered the 21-year-old was selling multiple types of narcotics out of his apartment in the 2000 block of Douglas Avenue, near WWU.
He apparently used social media to advertise and typically targeted customers under 21.
Deputies served a search warrant on the apartment and found a significant amount of drugs, including marijuana, LSD, and psychedelic mushrooms, along with a handgun and thousands of dollars in cash.
