BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Some mobile COVID-19 testing centers in Whatcom County have reached maximum capacity.
Due to a sharp increase in virus activity and a desire to travel or gather for the holidays, many more people are seeking coronavirus tests.
County Health Officer Dr. Greg Stern is asking residents who have signed up for non-essential COVID-19 tests to consider canceling their appointments to make space available for those who are sick or at-risk.
PeaceHealth Northwest’s Chief Medical Officer asked community members to stay local and celebrate the holidays with immediate household members only to avoid transmitting the disease to others.
