OLYMPIA, Wash. — A local state senator will serve with a new slate of Republican leadership in Olympia.
Former Sedro-Woolley mayor Keith Waggoner represents the 39th District that covers parts of Skagit, Snohomish, and King Counties.
He will serve as the new Republican Whip in the legislative session beginning in January.
Waggoner said he has “high hopes that adapting to a virtual environment will go smoothly.”
John Braun was selected for Senate Republican leader.
Braun replaces Sen. Mark Schoesler, who chose to step down from leadership after eight years.
