SEATTLE, Wash. — Recent wet weather in Whatcom County is increasing the risk of landslides.
The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Monday saying elevated soil moisture across Western Washington are near threshold.
Forecasters say that will put extra pressure on soil instability, leading to an increased threat of shallow landslides through Tuesday afternoon.
The greatest threat area will generally be focused in the Puget Sound Region.
