BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Monday was the last day on the job for Bellingham Police Chief David Doll.
Doll retired after service as chief for three years.
He began his law enforcement career as a 17-year-old volunteer Explorer/Cadet with the Bellingham Department and became a police officer in 1984 at age 21.
Chief Doll turned his badge over to Mayor Fleetwood during a ceremony in the back lot of the police department.
Interim Police Chief Flo Simon begins work today.
