BLAINE, Wash. — Officials are still investigating the cause of the recent train derailment in Custer.
An FBI Seattle field office spokesperson told The Northern Light that they are still working with partners to determine the cause of the accident and have not ruled anything out.
And a spokesperson for BNSF says they have not determined a cause yet either.
The train derailed around 11:40 a.m. December 22 in the 7500 block of Portal Way.
10 train cars carrying crude oil overturned, causing fires that burned until 8 p.m. that night.
