BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Local authorities are warning of a new phone scam making the rounds.
The Bellingham Police Department reports scammers are making calls pretending to represent the BPD and asking for donations.
They ask anyone who receives this call to hang up without giving them any information.
And the department urges anyone who gets a call from what they believe is a reputable organization to fully check it out to see if they are soliciting donations and those who don’t want you to hang up are the ones trying to scam you.
