OLYMPIA, Wash. — Security measures already in place at the State Capitol in Olympia have now been extended.
The State Patrol says the Washington National Guard will continue to fortify the restricted area around the capital at least through federal inauguration day next Wednesday.
In a statement, Governor Inslee called the extended measures unfortunate.
He attributed them to evolving intelligence on security threats posed in all 50 state capitols following the violence at the *U.S.* Capitol last week.
