BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A cluster of COVID-19 cases has been identified at the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.
Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo told KGMI seven employees have tested positive recently.
Of those seven, five are detectives.
Elfo said it’s reflective of the recent surge in cases Whatcom County has experienced in the last several weeks.
He says they are anxiously awaiting the time when law enforcement first responders are eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine.
