OLYMPIA, Wash. — A bill that would immediately move the entire state to Phase 2 of Governor Inslee’s Healthy Start plan got a hearing Wednesday in Olympia.
The Spokesman Review reports hundreds signed up and dozens testified in favor of Senate Bill 5114.
Senator Jeff Wilson said this was the first time in many months that constituents have had the opportunity to be heard.
Front line health workers spoke in opposition, with one hospital worker saying her hospital is currently at 94% capacity for adult ICU beds and they are expecting a further spike from gatherings held over Christmas.
The House companion bill HB1321 was referred to committee yesterday.
